Kittens hunting

My two older kittens love harassing my snake. Every time he crawls from under his rocks there’s a cat on his terrarium. I guess my cats are natural born hunters :) If my snake is crawling towards the lid I’m almost positive there’s going to be one of the kittens siting on top of it already. If they could they would pull him through holes in screen in lid. Snake is trying to keep away from kittens but they are much faster. He actually escaped once and crawled under cats litter box. He was really lucky that all the kittens were sleeping. That little rosy boa is no match to our cats. He would make a perfect cat food :)

Kittens names

First kitten got its name the same day we brought him home. I decided to name him Oreo, because he was black and white on his belly. But that name didn’t last too long. Unfortunately my kitten had ear-mites. Before we took him to the vet we tried some ear cleaners that could be found in pet stores. After first wash, my little kitten looked like master Yoda, with ears tilted to the sides and closed eyes. So we change his name to Yoda. And that’s his official name, that is what our kitten has in his vet record.

A few weeks, or maybe months we saw a movie on YouTube about talking cats. One cat looked exactly like our kitten, color-wise of course. His famous monologue included sentences “Oh long John, oh long Johnson”. We started talking with Yoda, trying to teach him to talk. Silly of us :) But surprisingly, our kitten started reacting when we called “Oh long Johnson”, he was crawling from under our bed, where he loved to hide. So we decided to call that cute kitten Johnson. And that’s his name now. Every time someone says Johnson our oldest kitten shows up. Unless he sleeps somewhere :)

My first kitten

Johnson was my first kitten. We tried to adopt another kitten at hospital but unfortunately got denied because of lack of vet record. We found this kitten on craigslist. After reading a description and looking at pictures I knew this was going to be my kitten, no matter what. Johnson was 6 weeks old, black with white feet. After a few email with owner we went there. I was so anxious about new kitty I couldn’t get out of a car. My husband went to get him. I was waiting impatiently and suddenly my husband showed up out of nowhere. I opened the door and I saw this amazing kitten. Not only he had white feet (I call them socks) but he had tuxedo!!! I couldn’t be happier. We went straight to petco and we spend almost $200 on kitten food, litter, new bed, litter box, carrier and toys. I also got bottle and kittens milk and tried to feed him, but I guess he was too old for that :) Anyway, that night little kitten was playing like he never played before. The following day we went to pet store again and we got even more food and toys. At that time I guess he was still to young to enjoy catnip, his favorite “treat” now. Finally, I had my own kitten. We decided, actually I did, to name him Oreo, because he looked like one :) Later we renamed him to Yoda, and again to Johnson. But that’s a story for another entry.

Trip to a dog park

After a few hours of playing with my kittens I took my husband and Chucky, our dog to newly opened dog park. We’ve been there before, but this time it was rather remarkable. We both got nasty slobber on our shorts from some rather nasty dog. If that wasn’t enough, when I kneeled down to pet Chucky another dog came to me, lifted his leg and peed on my back. What a day.

On the positive side, my husband found some lady’s car keys, she dropped them somewhere in the deep grass. Anyway, I’m back at home and it’s about time for a shower.
